About Dr. Des

Dr. Desmond A. Atem, DNP, FNP-BC, is a doctorally prepared, board-certified family nurse practitioner, civil servant, entrepreneur, and podcast host. He is the founder and CEO of PlatinumCare Health Solutions, a practice dedicated to delivering safe, effective, and patient-centered primary care, and Platinum Haven Group Home, which provides compassionate, person-centered residential care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

He also hosts the Des Factor Podcast, where he explores the intersections of health, relationships, leadership, and modern living with clarity and authenticity.

Born in Cameroon and now practicing in Indiana, Dr. Des brings together a global perspective, frontline clinical experience, and a deep calling to serve. His work has been recognized in the areas of community health, equity, advocacy, and leadership.
